Čovjek koji je na Mount Everestu bio deset puta!

On je šerpa Ang Rita iz Katmandua, glavnog grada Nepala, zemlje u kojoj se nalazi najviša planina na svijetu, Himalaja, planinski je vodič i nosač koji je na najvišem vrhu svijeta Mount Everestu (8848 m) bio čak deset puta! Umro je sredinom rujna ove godine, u dobi od 72 godine, kako je 19. rujna objavio dužnosnik Nepalskog planinarskog saveza (NMA) Santa Bir Lama, a prenio Večernji list 22. rujna 2020.

Ne zna se točno od čega je umro, no već je ranije (2017.) bio ozbiljno bolestan pretrpjevši moždani udar. Ušao je inače i u Guinessovu knjigu rekorda po tome što je svjetski rekorder u broju uspona na Mount Everest, a da pri usponu na najviši vrh svijeta (u razdoblju od 1983.-96.) nije koristio dodatnu bocu s kisikom! A to je za ostale osvajače praktično nemoguća misija. Osim toga, on je rekorder i po zimskom usponu na Everest bez dodatnog kisika.

Ang Rita imao je nadimak Snježni Leopard, „a njegovi pothvati učinili su građane naše zemlje ponosnima“, još je kazao Santa Bir Lama.

Osvajači Mount Everesta

Spomenimo i to, mada to svi planinari, a i velik dio svjetske populacije zna, da su prvi osvajači Mount Everesta bili Sir Edmund Hillary i šerpa Tenzing Norgay (također bez boca s kisikom!), 1953. godine. Everest je dio planinskog lanca Mahalangur Himal (Himalaja) koji dijele Nepal i Kina (Tibet). Dosad se u ovom izazovu života okušalo više tisuća ljudi, vrh je prema neslužbenim podacima dosad osvojilo oko 4000 alpinista, a preko dvije stotine njih je izgubilo život.

Inače sezona uspona (jesen) upravo je počela, za ovu godinu oko 1000 alpinista najavilo je pohod na Himalaju. Penjači značajno doprinose povećanju prihoda od turizma u siromašnom Nepalu, a pojedinačna dozvola za ovu planinsku avanturu stoji 25.000 dolara!

Konačno, rekorder po broju uspješnih uspona na Everest je nepalski šerpa Kami Rita (49) koji je dosad 23 puta na svijet gledao s njegove najviše točke! A najavio je da će ići do brojke 25! I još, da godine nisu važne potvrđuje japanski alpinist Yuichiro Miuro koji je, i nakon nekoliko operacija srca, sa svojih 80 godina najstariji osvajač Everesta!
